How to Choose a Hair Style. Square Face Type

A square face type is characterized by a wide forehead, cheekbones, jaw and heavy chin.
Quadratic-faced person is usually characterized by a broad forhead, cheekbone, lower jaw and heavy chin. These people should leave open their forehead, lift hair above the forhead and make it split above. This visually lengthens the face. Such haircuts as chin length haircuts are a perfect match for this type of face. The hair will cover the angles of the face.

A good haircut should come up to the chin, and the hair will cover the the angles of the lower jaw. This will divert attention from some angularity and short "tousled" hair with a "torn" fringe in the middle of the forehead and some wavy or curly hair will softly frame the face.

In conclusion, I'd like to say a few words that you should not unnecessarily harass your feelings about the fact that your appearance has some deviation from the classical canons. After all, sometimes, we can turn our face disadvantages to unique appealing, bright, memorable and charming features!

How to Choose a Hair Style. Long Face Type.

* Long Face Type. People having this type of face are distinguished because of a high forehead and a long chin.

With the help of hair one must optically expand the face on both sides. An ideal haircut will be a hair up to the lower corners of jaw or up to the chin arranged fluffy on tips, a rare or a full bang to the lush eyebrows, or to the volume of sculpture and ears.

If you have a long hair, add them a volume by using curler or perm. A full framing makes a thin and long face wider.

Round face. If you have this kind of face, you should choose a hairstyle, which optically lengthens the face. In this case, it is very important to leave forehead open and the top of the head area must be lush.

With regards to this, short haircut will suit for the round face perfectly and you should lush your hair in the top of the head.

The volume can be given through the fleece, curler, or perm.

If you are a fan of long hairstyles, it is recommended that you arrange hair up, fluff it above the forehead, with no fringe, but it's up to preferences.

Avoid direct and smooth hair parting.

How to Choose a Hair Style. Oval Face Type.

The face of each person is unique. Sometimes you can find similar people, but it is not exactly the same. Some faces seem to be beautiful, others are not, this perception is often individual. The criteria of beauty is also influenced by fashion and temporary era. If Jakonda lived in our days, she could hardly be described as beautiful, and instead the face of Nifertiti causes admiration even nowadays.

One of the important beauty criteria is a shape of face. With a correctly selected hairstyle the face can be adjusted to almost ideal.

So, the shape of face can be oval, elongated, round, square, triangle.

Oval face. This face shape is considered to be ideal. It is characterized by a smooth transition lines of forehead, temples, cheekbones and chin, which are shaped in an oval. For such a face come both long hair styles as well as any haircut. You can wear hair with a fringe and without it, hair up or down, smooth hair or lush frizz, parting of any type, hairstyles with open or hidden ears. Of course, even with the oval face you need to take into account such factors as the features and age. For example, if you have a low forehead, the parting line will only underline this shortcoming, a loose long hair for an older women is totally unacceptable.

Hair Types

Thin hairMost of us know if our hair is straight, wavy; or curly, but when it comes to fine and thick, there seems to be some confusion. Fine, medium, and coarse refer to the diameter of the individual strands of hair, or its texture. Thin to thick refers to density; or the actual number of hairs per square inch on your head. Compare your hair to a few of your friends' hair and your type will become immediately evident. In general, classic Scandinavian hair is fine and classic Asian hair tends to be coarse. Hair that's in between is of medium texture. If you pull your hair into a ponytail and there's barely an inch of total diameter, your hair is thin. If you have a big, full handful of ponytail, your hair is thick.

Hair can be anything from super straight to excessively curly. When selecting a cut based on hair texture, the rules of illusion apply, just as they do with facial shapes. A good haircut can control unruly curl or make fine, straight hair look thicker.

Medium hairFine hair is smaller in diameter than medium or coarse hair. It is generally limper, but shinier than coarse hair. Fine hair can be lightly texturized to add mobility, but if you layer fine hair, you're removing what there is very little of in the first place. Heavy layers will make fine hair look thinner. Only a short blunt cut will create the illusion of more hair. This is because the strong line of the short blunt cut, or bob, makes maximum use of what nature gave you. As a variation of the classic blunt cut, add a soft touch of light layers to frame the face. Very fine hair that's left long often looks thin and scraggly at the ends. For most women with fine, straight hair, shorter lengths are ideal.

Coarse hair has a larger diameter and fewer hair follicles which means hair produces less oil. Therefore, coarse hair can tend to be dry. On the plus side, it has more body and life than other types of hair. To make coarse hair more manageable, get a layered cut that won't go fiat. As for curly hair, instead of straightening it, find a style that best suits your hair and takes advantage of your natural curls. Layering curly hair gives you more control because you've removed excess curl at the ends and the hair moves in the direction it was cut. The length will pull down the curl to loosen it a bit. Stay away from a blunt cut. It overemphasizes the ends and creates a pyramid shape - especially if there is no layering.

Thick hairWhile very dense (thick) hair is an asset, it could end up looking too bushy if cut into a short bob. Layering adds mobility and styling options to hair, so if you're cufting dense hair, why not layer it? Women with dense hair usually want it thinned. Take advantage of the volume and fullness dense hair provides, and tame it with styling products. Remember, everyone else is trying to achieve the very look you're trying to get rid of!
